Glam Photo Booth Rental in Los Angeles: Is It Worth It?

The Glam Booth costs more than our Printer Booth and a lot more than our Digital Booth. So the fair question is whether a glam photo booth rental in Los Angeles and Orange County is worth the difference for your event. Here's a straight comparison, then a look at the events where the answer is clearly yes.
Glam vs Printer vs Digital at a glance
Same hours, three booths, prices before tax:
- Digital Booth: $228 for 2 hours, $348 for 4. Photos, GIFs and boomerangs sent to phones. No prints unless you add them.
- Printer Booth: $298 for 2 hours, $398 for 4. Unlimited prints with your personalized design.
- Glam Booth: $379 for 2 hours, $479 for 4. Unlimited prints, soft beauty lighting and a black-and-white portrait finish.
For a 4-hour event, the Glam Booth is $81 more than the Printer Booth. For that, you get a completely different kind of photo.
What the extra money buys
The Glam Booth is built for portraits, not goofy prop shots. Three things set it apart:
- Soft beauty lighting. The light is soft and flattering, the kind you'd want for a portrait you plan to keep.
- Black and white. The signature look is a classic black-and-white portrait, the kind that looks like it came out of a magazine. If you want color too, just ask us.
- Unlimited prints. Every guest can print as many times as they want, with your personalized design on each one.
Props come with it, but at a glam setup they're optional. The portrait is the point.
If your crowd wants silly hats and a GIF to post, the Digital Booth or the Printer Booth is the better buy. If you want photos that look good framed on a wall in ten years, the Glam Booth earns its price.
Glam photo booth rental in Los Angeles: where it fits
The events where we'd point you to glam in this metro:
- Weddings in historic venues. The Ebell of Los Angeles in Hancock Park has historic halls and courtyards, and the black-and-white portraits suit that classic look. The grand ballrooms at The Biltmore Los Angeles in Downtown LA are another good match.
- Galas and fundraisers. Black-tie guests in Beverly Hills or Pasadena are dressed for a portrait. Give them one.
- Milestone birthdays. A 40th, 50th or 60th in Santa Monica or Thousand Oaks, where the guest of honor wants to look good, not ridiculous.
- Brand and fashion events. Launches and press nights in West Hollywood or Culver City, where a clean, editorial look fits the brand.
It's less of a fit for kids' parties and casual backyard birthdays. Those crowds usually have more fun with the Digital Booth or the 360 Booth.
Backdrops, add-ons and the total
A plain wall behind a glam portrait is fine. A better backdrop makes it great. Two options to consider:
- Shimmery sequin backdrop: $100. It sparkles on camera and still reads well in black and white.
- Flower wall: $530. Full florals for weddings and galas.
Other add-ons the Glam Booth takes: 4x6 prints ($200), scrapbook ($240), customized picture ($150), digital gallery ($120), red carpet VIP ($200), LED inflatable ($240), extra lighting kit ($145), grass wall ($500) and an attendant ($50 an hour).
Full price list before tax: $379 for 2 hours, $439 for 3, $479 for 4, $519 for 5 and $559 for 6.
A sample wedding package: Glam Booth for 4 hours ($479), shimmery backdrop ($100) and delivery ($75). That's $654 before tax. Add the 4x6 upgrade and the scrapbook and you have a guestbook full of portraits for $1,094.
Sales tax in the Los Angeles metro is 9.5%, and card payments add a 5% processing fee. Pickup from our location is free, and you return the booth the day after. Delivery and setup is $75. A 35% deposit holds your date, and the balance is due 7 days before the event for delivery, or at pickup.
Questions people ask
Can I get color photos from the Glam Booth?
Black and white is the signature look, but ask us if you want color as well.
Is the Glam Booth good for a big wedding guest list?
Yes. Prints are unlimited, and an attendant at $50 an hour keeps the line moving and helps guests find their pose.
Should I pick glam or the Magazine Box for a gala?
The Glam Booth gives every guest a printed portrait. The Magazine Box is a life-size cover guests step into and shoot with their own phones. Some events book both.
Does the backdrop really matter with black and white?
It does. Texture shows up well in black and white, which is why a shimmery backdrop or a flower wall makes glam shots stand out.
