Glam Photo Booth Rental New York City: Is It Worth It?

For 2 hours, the EMCO Booth Glam Booth costs $81 more than our Printer Booth. Both print unlimited photos. So what does the extra money buy? If you're weighing a glam photo booth rental in New York City against a standard booth, this post lays the three closest options side by side and shows where the Glam Booth earns its price and where it doesn't.

Glam, Printer and Digital side by side

Here's how the three compare at 2 and 4 hours, before tax:

• Digital Booth: $228 for 2 hours, $348 for 4. Photos, GIFs and boomerangs sent to phones. No prints unless you add printing for $240.
• Printer Booth: $298 for 2 hours, $398 for 4. Unlimited prints with your personalized design.
• Glam Booth: $379 for 2 hours, $479 for 4. Unlimited prints, soft beauty lighting and a black and white finish.

All three include props and a personalized picture design. The gap between Printer and Glam is $81 at 2 hours and the same $81 at 4 hours.

What the difference pays for

The Glam Booth is about the look. Two things set it apart:

1. Soft beauty lighting. The light is set up to flatter faces, so guests look polished instead of washed out by a flash.
2. Black and white portraits. The signature finish makes every photo feel like a magazine portrait. If you want color too, ask us when you book.

Everything else works like the Printer Booth. Prints are unlimited, every print carries your names, date and colors, and the same add-ons are available: 4x6 prints ($200), a scrapbook ($240), a digital gallery ($120), a customized picture ($150), an attendant ($50 an hour) and backdrops from a shimmery sequin wall ($100) to a flower wall ($530).

So here's the honest answer. If your crowd wants goofy props and silly faces, the Printer Booth gives you prints for less. If you want photos people will frame, the Glam Booth is worth the extra $81.

Glam photo booth rental New York City events it suits

The Glam Booth fits events where people dress up and want to look like it.

• Weddings. A grand ballroom wedding at The Plaza Hotel in Midtown Manhattan is the classic match. Soft light and black and white portraits suit the setting, and guests in gowns and tuxedos look their best.
• Galas and fundraisers. Donors and guests get a polished portrait to take home. Large open event spaces like the ones at Chelsea Piers have room for a backdrop wall and a short, orderly line.
• Milestone birthdays. A 40th, 50th or 60th in Manhattan, Brooklyn or New Rochelle feels more grown-up with portraits instead of props.
• Brand events. A customized picture ($150) puts your logo on a clean, elegant print.

Garden settings work too. For a spring wedding at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a flower wall ($530) behind the Glam Booth ties the portraits to the scenery.

Questions people ask

Is the Glam Booth only black and white?

Black and white is the signature look. If you want color photos too, let us know when you book.

Which backdrop works best with the Glam Booth?

A shimmery sequin backdrop ($100) adds sparkle at night. A flower wall ($530) suits weddings and garden parties. Both make glam portraits stand out more than a plain wall.

Can I get 4x6 prints from the Glam Booth?

Yes. Strips come standard, and the 4x6 upgrade is $200. Bigger prints are easier to frame.
