Audio Guest Book Rental New York City: How It Works

A guest walks up to the phone, lifts the receiver and hears your voice: a short greeting you recorded asking them to leave a message. After the beep, they talk. Maybe it's a toast, maybe it's advice, maybe it's your grandmother singing. That's what an audio guest book rental in New York City gives you, and weeks later you can still play every message back. Here's how it works with EMCO Booth, what it costs and which events it suits.
How it works, start to finish
- Before the event, you set up a custom greeting. It's what guests hear when they pick up.
- On the day, the phone stays out all day, from setup until the event ends. There's no hourly clock to watch.
- During the party, guests lift the receiver, listen to your greeting and leave a voice message.
- After the event, we send you every message as an audio file. Keep them, share them with family, or play them at your first anniversary.
No app, no screen, no line at a printer. It's one of the simplest things you can add to a party.
Audio guest book rental New York City prices
There are two ways to book the Audio Guest Book:
- On its own: $399 for the whole day
- Added to any photo booth: $299 for the whole day
Both include the all-day rental, a custom greeting and every message delivered as an audio file. These extras dress it up:
- Artificial flowers around the phone: $100
- Vintage phone, a classic rotary-style handset: $200
- LED light display: $200
- Red carpet and stanchions: $200
Pairing it with a booth saves $100. A few combinations, before tax:
- Digital Booth for 3 hours ($278) plus the Audio Guest Book ($299): $577
- Printer Booth for 4 hours ($398) plus the Audio Guest Book ($299): $697
- Audio Guest Book on its own ($399) with the vintage phone ($200) and flowers ($100): $699
Events where a voice beats a photo
Photos show what people looked like. Messages keep what they said. The Audio Guest Book fits best at:
- Weddings. It replaces or sits next to the paper guest book. For a garden wedding at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the artificial flowers ($100) help it blend into the setting. At a ballroom reception at The Plaza Hotel, the vintage phone and red carpet give it a classic look.
- Anniversaries. A 25th or 50th in Queens or Staten Island collects stories from people who were there at the start.
- Retirement parties. Coworkers leave the kind of thank-yous nobody says in a speech.
- Baby showers. Friends and family in Harlem, Williamsburg or White Plains can leave a message for the baby to hear years later.
It also works in small rooms. The phone takes up very little space, so it fits in an apartment party or a restaurant back room as easily as in a big hall like the open event spaces at Chelsea Piers.
Pickup, delivery and payment
Pickup from our location is free, and you return it the day after your event. If you'd rather we bring it, delivery and setup is $75. When you add it to a photo booth, it's part of the same booking.
A 35% deposit locks your date. On a $399 Audio Guest Book, that's $139.65. The balance is due 7 days before the event when we deliver, or when you pick up. New York City events carry 8.875% sales tax, and card payments include a 5% processing fee.
