Magazine Box Photo Booth Rental Houston: Full Day Guide

Classmates posing inside a class reunion magazine cover box

Imagine the cover. Your name runs across the top in big magazine letters. The date sits where the issue number would be. The headlines down the side are inside jokes from your friends. Then the lights come on and your guests step inside it.

That is the Magazine Box, a life-size, light-up magazine cover. A magazine box photo booth rental in Houston from EMCO Booth is $850 for the whole day, and the cover is customized for your event.

What the $850 covers

Every Magazine Box rental includes:

  • All-day rental from setup to the end of your event
  • Standard customization of the cover title, your names, the date and the headlines
  • A lighting kit so every phone photo looks like a print edition
  • The life-size magazine box itself

Guests take photos on their own phones. The box does not print, which is why it pairs well with one of our photo booths if you want prints or instant sharing too.

You pick your cover design after you book.

Magazine box photo booth rental Houston costs

The Magazine Box has its own delivery terms. We bring it and set it up for a $175 travel fee, or you pick it up and drop it off yourself.

Houston-area events are charged 8.25% sales tax. On the $850 rental, that is $70.13, for $920.13. A 35% deposit holds your date, which on the box alone is $297.50. Card payments add 5%.

Three sample setups, before tax:

  1. Birthday, simple: Magazine Box ($850), and you pick it up. $850.
  2. Wedding with prints: Magazine Box ($850), printer photo booth ($550), 4x6 prints ($250) and the travel fee ($175). $1,825.
  3. Gala with a photographer: Magazine Box ($850), photographer ($750), red carpet and ropes ($200) and the travel fee ($175). $1,975.

Add-ons by event type

The Magazine Box has its own add-on list:

  • Printer photo booth: $550, a booth next to the box that prints for every guest
  • 4x6 prints: $250, bigger prints from the printer booth (needs the printer booth)
  • Digital photo booth: $450, photos, GIFs and boomerangs sent to guests' phones
  • Photographer: $750, stationed with the Magazine Box
  • Flower frame: $550, a floral frame around the cover
  • Balloon garland: $450, styled around the box
  • Red carpet and ropes: $200
  • Audio phone booth: $299, guests pick up the phone and leave you a voice message
  • Attendant: $50 an hour, for 2 to 10 hours

For weddings and bridal showers, the flower frame and the audio phone booth suit the mood. For galas, the red carpet and a photographer make it feel like a press line. For milestone birthdays, a balloon garland and the digital booth keep it fun.

Galas, weddings and big birthdays in Houston

The Magazine Box fits events where people dress up and want proof.

Galas and fundraisers. An elegant evening at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston can use a cover with the event name and the year's headlines.

Weddings. A Wedding Edition cover with the couple's names fits a reception at The Corinthian Houston downtown, where grand columns and a historic hall set the scene.

Bridal parties and showers. A shower at Hotel ZaZa Houston Museum District gives the bride and her friends a cover to fill together.

Milestone birthdays. A 30th in The Woodlands, a 50th in Sugar Land or a 60th in Friendswood all make good cover stories. The travel fee covers setup at a home or hall in Pearland, Humble or Galveston, or you can pick the box up yourself and skip it.
