Magazine Box Photo Booth Rental in Philadelphia and South Jersey

Guests posing inside a custom magazine cover at a gala

First, what the Magazine Box is not: it isn't a camera booth. There's no screen, no printer and no tablet. It's a life-size, light-up magazine cover that guests step into, and they take the photos on their own phones. If you're looking into a magazine box photo booth rental in Philadelphia and South Jersey, that's the most important thing to know, because it changes how you plan everything else.

The upside is simple. Every guest leaves with a photo that looks like a print edition, with your names, date and headlines on the cover, and nobody waits in line for a printer.

What you get for $850

The Magazine Box is $850 for the whole day. That includes:

  • The life-size magazine box, lit so it glows in the room
  • Standard customization: the cover title, your names, the date and the headlines
  • A lighting kit that makes phone photos look clean and bright
  • All-day rental, so it's ready from the start of the event to the end

You choose your cover design after you book. A gala might use the event name as the magazine title. A wedding might call it the "Wedding Edition." A 50th birthday could fill the headlines with inside jokes.

Magazine box photo booth rental in Philadelphia and South Jersey: getting it there

The Magazine Box has its own travel setup, different from our other booths.

  1. We bring it and set it up for a $175 travel fee.
  2. You pick it up and drop it off yourself.

A 35% deposit holds your date. On the box alone, that's $297.50. The balance is due 7 days before the event if we bring it, or when you pick it up. Card payments add 5%, and bookings in our Philadelphia metro, which includes South Jersey, are taxed at 8%.

If you'd like someone to stay with the box, help guests pose and keep things moving, you can add an attendant at $50 an hour, for between 2 and 10 hours.

Three ways to build it out

Guests snapping photos on their own phones is great, but some events want more. These add-ons are built for the Magazine Box:

  • Printer photo booth: $550, a booth next to the box that prints for every guest
  • 4x6 prints: $250, bigger prints from the printer booth (requires the printer booth)
  • Digital photo booth: $450, photos, GIFs and boomerangs sent to guests' phones
  • Photographer: $750, stationed with the Magazine Box
  • Flower frame: $550, a floral frame around the cover
  • Balloon garland: $450, styled around the box
  • Red carpet and ropes: $200
  • Audio phone booth: $299, guests leave you a voice message

Here are three ways to put it together, all before tax:

  1. Just the box, picked up. $850. Good for a birthday or shower where guests are happy using their phones.
  2. The party setup, delivered. Box ($850), printer photo booth ($550), red carpet and ropes ($200) and the $175 travel fee. $1,775. Guests get the cover shot and a print to take home.
  3. The gala setup, delivered. Box ($850), photographer ($750), flower frame ($550) and the $175 travel fee. $2,325. Every guest gets a professional photo on the cover.

Events where the Magazine Box fits

The box works best at events where guests dress up and want a photo that feels like a moment.

Galas and fundraisers. An evening event at The Franklin Institute in Center City is the kind of setting where a gala-themed cover makes sense. Put the event name on the masthead and every attendee's photo promotes the cause.

Weddings. At a ballroom like Cescaphe Ballroom in Northern Liberties, a "Wedding Edition" cover with the couple's names fits the formal room. The bridal party can fill the box together before the reception starts.

Milestone birthdays. A 30th, 40th or 50th birthday in Cherry Hill, Voorhees or King of Prussia gets a cover that puts the guest of honor on the front page.

Bridal parties and showers. A shower in Bryn Mawr, Media or West Chester can use the box for group shots in matching outfits.
