Elgin and Fox Valley Wedding Photo Booth Guide

Fox Valley weddings have their own feel. You get old brick downtown, river views, and golf club receptions out past Randall Road, often with a big family guest list and a dance floor that fills up early. If you're getting married in or around Elgin, a photo booth fits right in.
This guide covers how to choose one, step by step.
Step 1: Decide what you want to take home
Couples usually want one of three things from a booth. Pick the one that matters most and the rest gets easier.
- Prints for guests. Everyone leaves with a photo strip, and you get a copy for your album. Go with the Printer Booth.
- Something to watch later. Slow-motion videos of your friends spinning on a platform. Go with the 360 Booth.
- Voices, not just faces. Messages from grandparents, toasts from your college roommates. Add the Audio Guest Book.
Lots of couples combine two. The Audio Guest Book pairs well with any booth.
Step 2: Look at your venue
Elgin has a nice mix of wedding settings, and each one points toward a different booth.
Restored warehouses. The Haight in downtown Elgin is a restored 1890 warehouse with three floors of indoor and outdoor space. Exposed brick is a ready-made backdrop, so you can skip renting one. A Printer Booth set against the brick looks great on every strip.
Classic country clubs. The vintage stone clubhouse at Elgin Country Club hosts weddings and private parties. Rooms like this tend to be traditional, so a booth with a clean look fits best. Add a shimmery sequin backdrop ($100) so the booth looks finished against a plain wall.
Newer golf venues out west. Bowes Creek Country Club in far west Elgin hosts weddings and showers at Johnny's Supper Club. With a big guest list and a lively dance floor, a 360 Booth gives the party a center of gravity.
Every venue has its own rules for vendor load-in and setup space. Ask your coordinator where the booth can go before you book.
Step 3: Pick your hours and price
Here are 2-, 3- and 4-hour prices for the booths couples choose most often. Every package includes props and a personalized design with your names, date and colors.
- Printer Booth: $298, $348, $398. Unlimited prints.
- 360 Booth: $249, $299, $349. Unlimited videos sent to phones.
- Glam Booth: $379, $439, $479. Soft beauty light, black-and-white portraits and unlimited prints.
- Digital Booth: $228, $278, $348. Photos and GIFs sent to phones.
- Audio Guest Book: $299 all day when added to a booth, or $399 on its own.
Most receptions run long enough that 3 or 4 hours makes sense. If you're watching the budget, 2 hours starting right after dinner catches the busiest part of the night.
Step 4: Choose a few extras
You don't need every add-on. These are the ones that tend to matter at weddings:
- Scrapbook ($240). Guests paste a print and write a note, and it becomes your guest book.
- 4x6 prints ($200). Bigger photos instead of strips, nice for framing.
- Flower wall ($530) or grass wall ($500). A lush backdrop for outdoor or garden-style weddings.
- Attendant ($50 an hour). Helps older guests, keeps the line moving and tidies props.
- Vintage phone ($200) for the Audio Guest Book, if you want the classic rotary look.

Questions people ask
Do I need a backdrop at a brick or warehouse venue?
Usually not. Exposed brick makes a good backdrop on its own. In plainer rooms, a shimmery backdrop ($100) or flower wall ($530) helps.
Can we have a photo booth and an audio guest book?
Yes. The Audio Guest Book is $299 when you add it to any booth, and it stays out all day.
How long should a wedding photo booth run?
Three or four hours covers most receptions. If budget is tight, 2 hours right after dinner catches the most guests.
Do you serve weddings outside Elgin?
