Magazine Box Photo Booth Rental in Los Angeles

The Magazine Box is a life-size, light-up magazine cover your guests step into. It's simple to explain and easy to misunderstand, so before you book a magazine box photo booth rental in Los Angeles and Orange County, here are three things people often assume, and what's actually true.
Three common assumptions, and what's true
- "It's a camera booth." It isn't. The Magazine Box is a styled, lit frame with your custom cover. Guests take photos on their own phones. The lighting kit is what makes those phone photos look like a print edition. If you want prints or instant sharing too, you can add a booth next to it.
- "It's priced by the hour." It's not. The Magazine Box is $850 for the whole day, from setup until the event ends.
- "You have to pay for delivery." You have two choices. We bring it and set it up for a $175 travel fee, or you pick it up and drop it off yourself.
Magazine box photo booth rental in Los Angeles: what's included
For $850 all day, you get:
- The life-size magazine box
- Standard customization of the cover
- A lighting kit
The cover is where the fun is. You pick the cover title, your names, the date and the headlines, and you can choose your design after you book. A wedding might run a "Wedding Edition" title. A 50th birthday cover can carry the guest of honor's name and a few inside jokes as headlines.
Sales tax in the Los Angeles metro is 9.5%, so the Magazine Box on its own comes to $930.75 with tax. Card payments add a 5% processing fee. A 35% deposit holds your date, and the balance is due 7 days before the event if we bring it, or at pickup.
Building a bigger setup
The box works on its own. These add-ons turn it into a full photo area:
- Printer photo booth: $550, a booth next to the box that prints for every guest
- 4x6 prints: $250, bigger prints from the printer booth (needs the printer booth)
- Digital photo booth: $450, photos, GIFs and boomerangs sent to guests' phones
- Photographer: $750, stationed with the Magazine Box
- Flower frame: $550, florals around the cover
- Balloon garland: $450, styled around the box
- Red carpet and ropes: $200
- Audio phone booth: $299, guests leave you a voice message
- Attendant: $50 an hour, for 2 to 10 hours
The photographer is worth a look for weddings and galas. Phone photos are fun, but a photographer gets every guest on the cover with the right framing.
Events where a cover makes sense
The Magazine Box suits events where guests dress up and want to be the headline. Around this metro, that means:
- Weddings. The Ebell of Los Angeles in Hancock Park, with its historic halls and courtyards, is a natural setting for a Wedding Edition cover with a flower frame.
- Galas and fundraisers. The grand ballrooms at The Biltmore Los Angeles in Downtown LA have room for the box and a red carpet leading up to it. A cover with the event name gives every guest a photo worth posting.
- Milestone birthdays. A 40th or 50th in Beverly Hills, Pasadena or Malibu, where the cover can roast or celebrate the guest of honor.
- Bridal parties and showers. Showers in Irvine, Anaheim or Santa Monica, where the whole bridal party can fill the frame together.
Three sample setups before tax:
- Bridal shower in Irvine: Magazine Box ($850), balloon garland ($450), picked up and dropped off by you. Total $1,300.
- Gala downtown: Magazine Box ($850), photographer ($750), red carpet and ropes ($200) and the travel fee ($175). Total $1,975.
- Wedding in Hancock Park: Magazine Box ($850), printer photo booth ($550), audio phone booth ($299) and the travel fee ($175). Total $1,874.
