Magazine Box Photo Booth Rental New York City: 3 Ways to Book

There are three common ways to set up a Magazine Box photo booth rental in New York City. You can rent the box on its own and let guests shoot on their phones. You can put a photo booth beside it so guests also get prints or instant sharing. Or you can add a photographer who stays with the box all day. Each setup costs something different, so here they are side by side with EMCO Booth prices.
What comes with every Magazine Box
The Magazine Box is a life-size, light-up magazine cover your guests step into. It's $850 for the whole day, and that includes:
- The life-size magazine box
- A lighting kit, so phone photos look like a print edition
- Standard customization: the cover title, your names, the date and the headlines
Guests take photos on their own phones. You pick your cover design after you book.
Magazine Box photo booth rental New York City: three setups
All three totals below include the $175 travel fee, where we bring the box and set it up. Prices are before tax.
- The box on its own: $1,025. The Magazine Box ($850) plus travel ($175). Guests line up, pose and shoot with their phones. Simple, and it works for most parties.
- The box plus a printer booth: $1,575. Add a printer photo booth next to the box for $550 and every guest prints a keepsake too. Want bigger photos? 4x6 prints from the printer booth are another $250. If you'd rather skip paper, a digital photo booth that sends photos, GIFs and boomerangs to phones is $450 instead.
- The box plus a photographer: $1,775. Add a photographer stationed with the Magazine Box for $750. Guests don't have to hand their phone to a stranger, and you get photos taken by someone whose only job is the cover.
Don't need the travel fee? You can pick up the box and drop it off yourself instead.
Styling add-ons
These change how the box looks in the room:
- Flower frame around the cover: $550
- Balloon garland styled around the box: $450
- Red carpet and ropes with stanchions: $200
- Audio phone booth, where guests leave you a voice message: $299
- Attendant: $50 an hour, booked for 2 to 10 hours
A flower frame suits weddings and galas. A balloon garland suits birthdays and showers. The red carpet works almost anywhere guests walk up to the box in a line.
Events and rooms that suit it
The Magazine Box fits events where people dress up and want a photo that looks the part.
- Weddings. The couple gets a cover with their names and date, and guests get a shot that looks like a print edition. In a garden setting like Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the flower frame ties the box to the scenery.
- Galas and fundraisers. A cover with the event name and headlines gives donors a photo they'll actually post. A formal ballroom like the one at The Plaza Hotel in Midtown suits the box with the red carpet and ropes.
- Milestone birthdays. A 50th birthday cover is a fun way to put the guest of honor front and center, for a party in Manhattan, Astoria or New Rochelle.
- Bridal parties and showers. The bride and her friends can fill the box together, and a balloon garland keeps it light.
Bigger rooms like the open event spaces at Chelsea Piers have space to pair the box with a printer booth, so guests can do both without one line blocking the other.
Deposit, payment and tax
A 35% deposit locks your date. On setup 1 above, that's $358.75. The balance is due 7 days before the event when we bring it, or at pickup. New York City events carry 8.875% sales tax, and card payments include a 5% processing fee.
We cover all five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island.
