Photo Booth Rental with Prints Chicago: A Planning Checklist

Printer photo booth with a blue sequin backdrop

If you want a photo booth rental with prints in Chicago, the booth is the easy part. The small decisions around it are what make the night run smoothly. Here is the checklist we'd work through before booking a Printer Booth for a wedding, quinceañera, anniversary or reunion.

  1. Count your hours. Two hours covers the rush after dinner. Four or more covers cocktail hour through the last dance.
  2. Pick strips or 4x6. Strips come standard. Bigger 4x6 prints are a $200 upgrade.
  3. Decide on a guest book. The scrapbook ($240) gives guests a place to paste a print and write a note.
  4. Choose a backdrop. A shimmery sequin wall is $100. A flower wall is $530 and a grass wall is $500.
  5. Plan the spot. Put the booth where people already gather, close to the dance floor or the bar.
  6. Pick up or delivery. Pickup is free. Delivery and setup is $75.
  7. Budget for tax. Chicago-area events are taxed at 10.25%.
  8. Lock the date. A 35% deposit holds it.

The rest of this post goes through each of those in more detail.

Photo booth rental with prints Chicago prices

Every Printer Booth rental includes unlimited prints, a personalized picture design and props. Unlimited really means unlimited: every guest can print as many times as they want while the booth is running.

  • 2 hours: $298
  • 3 hours: $348
  • 4 hours: $398
  • 5 hours: $448
  • 6 hours: $498

Here's an example for a big family party. A 5-hour quinceañera with the 4x6 upgrade and the scrapbook is $448 + $200 + $240, or $888 before tax. Tax at 10.25% adds $91.02, for $979.02. The deposit to hold the date is $310.80.

A smaller one: a 3-hour anniversary dinner with standard strips and free pickup is $348 plus $35.67 in tax.

Banquet halls where prints make sense

Prints shine at events with a lot of family. Grandparents want something to hold, and kids collect strips all night. That's why the Printer Booth fits so well in the banquet halls around Chicagoland.

Niko's Banquets on Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview has been open since 1973 and hosts weddings, quinceañeras, cotillions and birthdays. A Printer Booth near the dance floor keeps that side of the room busy.

Chateau Del Mar in Hickory Hills has three ballrooms, one with golf course views, for weddings and quinceañeras. With 4x6 prints, guests take home a photo big enough to frame.

Fountain Blue Banquets & Conference Center on Mannheim Road in Des Plaines is a family owned hall with ballrooms and gardens. Big family celebrations there pair well with unlimited prints and a scrapbook.

Up north, the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel on Skokie Boulevard has more than 20,000 square feet of event space for weddings and meetings. A printed keepsake works just as well there.

We bring the Printer Booth across the area, from Oak Lawn, Orland Park, Palos Hills and Burbank to Park Ridge, Niles and Skokie. See our Bridgeview photo booth page for more on the southwest suburbs, or the main Chicago photo booth rental page.

Strips, 4x6 prints and the scrapbook

This is the choice people ask about most, so here's how to think about it:

  • Strips come standard. They're the classic photo booth look, easy to tuck in a pocket or purse, and they fit nicely in a scrapbook.
  • 4x6 prints ($200) are bigger and read more like a photo than a souvenir. They're a good pick for weddings and quinceañeras where guests will frame them.
  • The scrapbook ($240) turns the booth into a guest book. Guests paste a print and sign a note, and you leave with a finished album.

Other extras that work with the Printer Booth:

  • Customized picture: $150 for a fully custom design with your names, date and colors
  • Digital gallery: $120 for every photo in one online album
  • Red carpet VIP: $200
  • LED inflatable frame: $240
  • Extra lighting kit: $145
  • Attendant: $50 an hour

Getting the booth to the hall

Pick the booth up from our location for free and return it the day after your event. If you'd rather not haul it, we deliver and set it up for $75, so it's ready before guests walk in.

A 35% deposit locks the date. With delivery, the balance is due 7 days before the event. With pickup, you pay the balance when you collect the booth. Card payments include a 5% processing fee.

For a big banquet, think about an attendant. At $50 an hour, five hours is $250, and someone is there to keep the line moving and help guests with their prints.

Questions people ask

How many prints can each guest take?

As many as they want. Prints are unlimited for the whole rental.

Should I pick strips or 4x6 for a quinceañera?

If you're adding the scrapbook, strips fit the pages well. If guests will frame their photos, the 4x6 upgrade for $200 is worth it.

What does a 4-hour Printer Booth cost in Chicago with tax?

$398 plus $40.80 in tax, for $438.80, before any add-ons or delivery.

Is delivery worth $75 for a banquet hall?

For most halls, yes. We set it up before the party starts, and you don't have to load anything into your car the morning of the event.
