Digital Photo Booth Rental in the San Francisco Bay Area

Guests posing with an open bar sign at a photo booth

Here is the full price list for a digital photo booth rental in the San Francisco Bay Area, before you read anything else. The EMCO Digital Booth starts at $228 for 2 hours. It includes unlimited pictures, a personalized picture design and props, and it sends every photo, GIF and boomerang straight to guests' phones by text or QR code.

Digital Booth prices by the hour

  • 2 hours: $228
  • 3 hours: $278
  • 4 hours: $348
  • 5 hours: $418
  • 6 hours: $488

Those prices are before tax. Events in the Bay Area are taxed at 10.25%, so a 2-hour rental you pick up yourself comes to $251.37 with tax. Card payments add a 5% processing fee on top.

Look at the gap between 2 and 3 hours. It's only $50. If your party runs longer than a quick toast and a cake, 3 or 4 hours keeps the booth open when people finally loosen up and start dancing. Six hours is $488, which covers most receptions from cocktail hour to last song.

What you pay for, and what you can skip

The Digital Booth costs less than our other booths for one simple reason: there's no printer, no paper and no camera rig to bring. Guests pose, tap the screen and their photos show up on their phones a few seconds later. Nobody waits by a print tray.

That also means the setup needs less room than a printer booth. San Francisco venues can be compact, so that matters more here than in most places.

Every add-on is optional. Here's the list for this booth:

  • Unlimited printing: $240, if you want prints on the spot too
  • Customized picture with your names, date and colors, fully custom: $150
  • Shimmery sequin backdrop: $100
  • Digital gallery with every photo in one online album: $120
  • Red carpet VIP with stanchions: $200
  • LED inflatable frame: $240
  • Extra lighting kit: $145
  • Flower wall: $530, or grass wall: $500
  • Attendant: $50 an hour

Most small parties need none of these. If you add one thing, the shimmery backdrop is the cheapest way to make every shot look finished.

Where a digital booth fits around the Bay

The Digital Booth is built for crowds who want their photos right now, in their pocket, ready to post. That makes it a natural pick for a few kinds of Bay Area events.

Company parties in the South Bay. Offices and event rooms in Santa Clara, Sunnyvale and Mountain View can be huge, and the guest list is mostly people who will share a good photo before they leave. Add the digital gallery and the whole team gets one album the next morning.

Graduation parties. Backyard grad parties in Fremont, Berkeley and Palo Alto tend to run all afternoon with family coming and going. Free pickup and a 3- or 4-hour rental keep the cost low while the booth stays busy.

Birthdays and sweet 16s. Teens care about GIFs and boomerangs more than paper. A party in San Jose, Hayward or Daly City gets everything they want from this booth without paying for prints nobody will keep.

Weddings on a budget. A Digital Booth works well at a smaller reception or a cocktail hour. For a City Hall wedding in Civic Center followed by dinner somewhere nearby, guests can send photos to themselves and the couple can collect them all in the digital gallery.

It also works at bigger San Francisco settings. Near the Palace of Fine Arts or at a reception at the Fairmont San Francisco on Nob Hill, the booth's small footprint fits into a corner without taking over the room.

Pickup, delivery and payment

Pickup from our location is free. You take the booth before your event and bring it back the day after. If you'd rather skip the drive, we deliver and set it up for $75.

A 35% deposit holds your date. On a 3-hour rental with pickup, that's $97.30. The balance is due 7 days before the event if we deliver, or when you pick up the booth.

Three sample Bay Area budgets

These are examples to show how the numbers add up. All are before the 10.25% tax.

  1. Grad party in Fremont, 3 hours, picked up: $278.
  2. Company holiday party in Sunnyvale, 4 hours: Digital Booth ($348), digital gallery ($120), shimmery backdrop ($100), an attendant for 4 hours ($200) and delivery ($75). Total $843.
  3. Sweet 16 in San Jose, 5 hours: Digital Booth ($418), LED inflatable ($240), unlimited printing ($240) and delivery ($75). Total $973.

If you want to save, book 2 or 3 hours around the busiest stretch of the party and pick the booth up yourself.

Questions people ask

Yes. The Digital Booth is $228 for 2 hours and $278 for 3 hours before the 10.25% Bay Area sales tax. Pickup is free.

How do guests get their photos?

They enter a phone number or scan a QR code, and the photos, GIFs and boomerangs land on their phone right away.

Can I add prints to a digital booth?

Yes. Unlimited printing is $240, and guests get prints on the spot along with the digital copies.

Do I need an attendant for an office party?

It's optional. An attendant is $50 an hour and helps guests and keeps the line moving. For a casual crowd, most people figure the booth out on their own.
